Write an excerpt that invites readers into the article

A post excerpt is the short text that may appear in archives, search results, or article cards.

If you leave it empty, WordPress usually generates one from the beginning of the post.

For more control, open the post and find the Excerpt field in the post settings.

Use one or two sentences to explain which reader problem the article helps solve.

Do not repeat the opening sentence without purpose or reveal every conclusion.

Avoid relying only on vague phrases such as “Read on to learn more.”

Keep the excerpt aligned with the title so the click does not feel misleading.

Write a version of roughly thirty words and view it in the site’s post list.

Check mobile view to make sure it has not become an oversized block of text.

Finally, ask someone to read only the title and excerpt and identify the topic.
