Restore an earlier post version with Revisions

WordPress keeps saved post versions so you can compare changes.

Edit a test post and add one distinctive sentence.

After saving, open Revisions from the post settings.

Move through the revision timeline and inspect added or removed sections.

Check the author and save time so you do not choose the wrong version.

Copy any important current text to a safe place before restoring.

Restore the earlier version and return to the editor.

Check the title, excerpt, featured image, and your test sentence.

If the result is wrong, choose a newer revision or correct the change manually.

Revisions do not replace a complete site backup.
